Idaho Suzuki Institute

Violin, Viola, Cello, Piano, Flute

June 21-25, 2010

Flute Program:
  1. Master Class
  2. Technique/Ensemble Class
  3. Reading/Orchestra
  4. Instrumental Ensemble
  5. Two Enrichment Classes

INSTRUMENTAL ENSEMBLE (DUO, TRIO, QUARTET, QUINTET). In this class, coached by Barbara Meixner and Jennifer Myers, elementary and intermediate piano students will learn the basics of playing in small groups with other instrumentalists. Instrumentalists do need to be able to read simple music and to play non-melody notes independently. Clarinet and trumpet students need to be able to play in the keys of G and D and, for more advanced groups, the keys of A Major, a minor, and b minor

Repertoire Preparation

The Suzuki Institute experience relies upon a deep and thorough knowledge of all learned repertoire. Students are strongly encouraged to review all of the books they have studied and to be well prepared with any previously learned piece in the Suzuki repertoire. Clinicians will choose freely from pieces in the Suzuki sequence when working with both the technique and repertoire classes. Your institute experience will be much more satisfying if you review and polish in the months before institute.
